The gig in the RDS was a huge success! It’s a week later and we’re still buzzing with excitement! We want to thank everyone who came along, supported us and danced their hearts out! The reviews so far have been great, and we thought you might like to see a few:
“The Brilliant Things played to a thronged arena and went down a storm, with Marie Junior giving it loads upfront and co-conspirator Greg French more than looking the part in eyeliner and natty threads. If the ecstatic crowd reaction is anything to go by, electro pop is back in Ireland, especially when it’s delivered with this kind of energy and musical smarts! The Brilliant Things are looking like the real thing!”
… the band took to the stage with as much energy as I have ever seen them (or any other band, for that matter), display, blasting through their twenty minute set.
Since first coming across them opening the Oxegen Festival on the Main Stage with the Artane Band this summer, their music has really struck a chord. Their upbeat tunes are a perfect mix of sweet well-pitched vocals from Marie Jr. and just-so lyrics from Greg French.
Here is the full HD video of Rise in the RDS, including the flashmob of brilliant dancers who joined us on the day! That’s right, we flashmobbed the RDS! Black Eyed Peas and Oprah eat your heart out
We’re playing at the Hotpress Music Show in the RDS tomorrow. The show is billed as Ireland’s Ultimate Music event, and will feature talks and performances from all the big names in the Irish music industry and we’re really excited to be opening the second day!
We recently played two great gigs in the Academy – the first supporting Carolina Liar and the second downstairs at The Once A Month Club. Both gigs went really, really well and we had a brilliant time.
Luckily for us there were some great photographers in the crowd too! Here are some of the excellent pics they took:
